Why is PayPal asking me to download an App to buy ReportAway!??
Answer
If you are trying to purchase a product off the ReportAway! site using your BlackBerry web browser you may get redirected to PayPal and asked to "Get the PayPal App". This happens because the PayPal site recognizes that you are using a BlackBerry to access their site and they are assuming you want their app.
If you do not wish to use the PayPal App, you have two options to consider.
- Make your purchase using a desktop browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox.
- Configure your BlackBerry browser to have a different identification. To do this follow this procedure:
- From the BlackBerry browser application press the menu key and select "Options".
- Select "Browser Configuration".
- Set the "Browser Identification" field to a browser value (e.g. Firefox) other than BlackBerry.
Please note, if you choose option 2 you may wish to change the configuration back to its default value of BlackBerry so that other sites which serve up mobile friendly content know they are dealing with a mobile browser client.
