How to configure QuickBooks sub-items?
Answer
Activities in ReportAway! get mapped to items in QuickBooks during import of an "iif" file. If you use sub-items in QuickBooks you need to configure your ReportAway! activities in a very specific way.
The general rule when configuring activities in ReportAway! that are sub-items is to separate the sub-item from the item with a colon character.
The two examples below would each be the Description field for the Activity as entered in ReportAway! . In these examples, the QuickBooks item would be "Finishing" and the sub-items would be "Stripping" and "Sanding"."Finishing:Stripping"
"Finishing:Sanding"
IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not enter space characters on either side of the colon character. Space characters cause QuickBooks to create new duplicate sub-item entries on each import which will make creation of invoices and QuickBooks administration much more complicated.
